Oracle Database 19c Premier Support Extension – now until December 31, 2029

In an update to their Lifetime Support Policy, Oracle has announced an extension of Premier Support for Database 19c. This is a welcome change for organisations that rely on this version of the database, providing them with several additional years of critical support.

Previously Scheduled End of Support

Originally, Premier Support for Oracle Database 19c was set to expire on April 30, 2026. This would have meant that organisations using 19c would have had to either upgrade to a newer version or transition to Extended Support by that date.

Extended Premier Support Window

The new end date for Premier Support for Oracle Database 19c is now December 31, 2029. This gives organisations three and a half years to plan their database strategy.

Importance of Premier Support

Premier Support is the highest level of support offered by Oracle. It provides organisations with a number of benefits, including:

  • Direct access to Oracle support engineers
  • Entitlement to the latest bug fixes and security patches
  • Proactive support for potential issues

With Premier Support, organisations can be confident they are getting the most up-to-date support for their Oracle Database 19c deployments.

Extended Support for Oracle Database

Even after Premier Support ends, organisations can still access support for Oracle Database 19c through Extended Support.  Oracle’s Extended Support offers organisations an additional three years of support beyond the standard five-year Premier Support period for specific Oracle products. This extension allows businesses to maintain their software systems with continued access to critical updates and assistance.

By opting for Extended Support, organisations can delay major upgrades while still receiving essential updates and support, allowing more time to plan and execute transitions to newer software versions.

The new end date for Extended Support for Oracle Database 19c is now December 31, 2032. This is also an extension from the previously announced end date of April 30, 2027.
